Dog tree

In Thailand people sometimes like to shape bushes so that they look like something. I have seen many elephant trees. I have seen a horse tree. The one on the right here is a dog tree. Do you know what the one on the left is? It's there in case the dog tree needs to pee.

Singha

This creature is called a singha. It is like a lion and they often guard the entrance to temples in Thailand. This one is at the Royal Wat in Bangkok.

Wat means temple in Thai and also in Khmer.

Can you see the smaller creatures on the wall behind? They are called garudas.

Hanuman

This is Hanuman, a monkey-god. I found many pictures of him at the Royal Wat in Bangkok. Hanuman is very strong. He can fly and does not get tired.

Dragons in Bangkok

I am in Bangkok, in Thailand, and there are dragons here too. I went to visit the Royal temple and I photographed this one. There were other dragons too. Wish you could be here and I would show them to you.

Meet some Thai kids

My friend teaches at a school in north-east Thailand. When I was visiting my friend I also visited his school. The kids usually speak Thai but they also learn English. They were able to practise speaking English with me.

Some of the kids also play traditional Thai folk music. I took a photo of them while they were practising.

Who is this?

Do you know who this is? This photo was taken at Bahn Kong Si in Thailand. That is a village in the mountains that I visited last week. My friend took the photo. So who is the man in the picture?

I hope you know that it is your grandfather. If not, perhaps I need to come home soon so you know me better.

Pig

I have been travelling in the country in Thailand. It is very beautiful and the people are very kind.

We went to visit a house where the people have pigs. Often pigs are pink. But these pigs are not. They are like wild pigs. Can you see this one has tusks behind its nose? If they fight, the tusks can hurt their enemy.

The people we visited had a mother pig, a father pig and a family of baby pigs like this one. When the babies grow up people will eat the meat.
